Need to display tangent lines in Modeling instead of Annotation

I'm using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling 19.0 and need to create an exploded view of an assembly with Perspective turned on. As I don't believe there is a way to do this in Annotation I have to do it in Modeling.

 

Below is a screenshot of one of my parts, the model and background are white and all edges are black. I need to find a way to display the tangent lines that would show where the edges of the part are (green arrows).

 

Eventually I need to turn this into a high res image or vector image to be put on a t-shirt. Any advice would be most welcome.

Making a conditional statements in "pesd_startup" or "user input line"...

My goal is to create an IF / THEN / ELSE statement in LISP.

To test this I tried to delete "/w1" and "/p1" at startup. (Since some users may have their system to automatically add these at startup.)

 

At a basic level, this works in some cases:

 

  • delete_3d "/w1" complete
  • delete_3d "/p1" complete

 

But if they dont have "/w1" or "/p1" loaded, then it will create an error trying to delete something that isn't there,

 

So I tried to make a conditional statement:

 

I tried this, but after many variations, I had no luck creating an "ELSE" part of the statement

 

  • (if "/w1" (delete_3d "/w1") ( ? ))    ;; IF "/w1" exists delete it, If it doesn't exist, NIL - End statement and continue
  • (if "/p1" (delete_3d "/p1") ( ? ))

 

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Error Message Problem

     I am using PTC Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 6.0, and I have a problem that I cannot seem to get around. Whenever I am in the annotation mode and try to create a drawing from the model, that is after I see the preview of what will be layed out in threee views, and select the green check mark to create the drawing, I get an error message that says "Cannot create this view because of an internal error. Action will be aborted." I get this message now matter how simple the model is, even if it only a cube or cylinder. Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated. I am using an Asus with windows 8.1, 8GB ram, I7 quad core and a G Force graphics card.

Internal error when trying to make 2d drawing

In Creo Express 6. Does anyone know what generally is the cause of the internal error message (I don't get any error message code number or reason given), or what to do to prevent this. Is it possible to " refresh" my installation of Creo without deleting the whole program. THANKS

PDF size automatically created by Model Manager?

Is it possible to change the sheet size of the PDF that is automatically created by Model Manager / Drawing Manager when saving the drawing in Creo Elements Direct Drafting 18.1?

We use B size (11x17) foramt and when using Store All, the PDF that is created is A4.

I'm assuming that it's possible, because previous revisions of drawings have the correct size, but when saving a new revision or a new drawing it now saveas as an A4 size.

 

Anyone able to help with this?

Hello everybody,


Creo Elements am a new user in the program. Planning & top because there is also so good I'm writing using google translation. I apologize for the inconvenience. However, as much about the program can not find the source. I have encountered a problem with our esteemed users want to consult the marrow.


I'm doing as part of Parametric drawings. However, I draw a very long piece measuring tool when using the measure-digit numbers involved. How can I solve this problem? Or marrow a lisp file it is there? Also on the subject as I add photos. Maybe translation may be faulty. Thank you in advance for your answers. to discuss

Hi there,

 

I am working on making a bento box, and I need to know how to make a box lid, which will fit into the bento box. would you please help?

How to count the dimensions that will actually fit into the box, with rectanglaur shape, 4 round corners...but I am struggling finding a way

to make a lid to close the bento box. This is Creo Parametric 1.0.

 

Would you please help and send me some instructions?

Skeleton

Hi,

 

I am mainly into customization but have limited knowledge on designing.

 

I have following doubts:

1.     What is difference between skeleton and Map?

2.     What is difference between assembly and skeleton?

3.      Could you please help me to understand meaning of skeleton file with reference to Creo? It will be very helpful if someone could share reference skeleton file with me for my reference.

Opening a PKG assembly. Now select part, right-click, but no "hide" or "locate in model tree" command available. Is there a shortcut to hide a selected part?

How do I make a new coordinate system the active one?

I am trying to move a part.  The 3D copilot appears (I think that is what it is called, the 3d thing with the arrows and rings that you pull to move an object) but it wants to move the part in directions that are set at 45 degrees offset from the directions I need to move the part.  I tried to see if there was a way for me to reorient the global coordinate system but could not find a way to do that.  I created a new coordinate system successfully - but it has no effect on anything!  What good is a new coordinate system if you can't move parts or measure relative to it?????  I see no way to make it the active coordinate system.  I looked through the help file and so far have not found a way to make a new coordinate system the active one. 

 

I also tried creating a new workplane and then orienting it in the appropriate direction and then pressing F8 to show the coordinate system of that plane (which is oriented as I need it to be) but then when I go to move the part the 3d copilot is oriented according to the global coordinate system and not the one associated with the workplane.  So that method doesn't work.

 

What am I missing here?

 

I am using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express.

How can I print mi files to pdf keeping searchable texts?

Hello everyone,

this is my first access to the community resources after years of use of Direct Drafting and Modeling.

Our office has various Drafting running both on WinXP and 7 and the problem may appear trivial, but I couldn't find a way of printing .mi files (through the Adobe PDF printer) into .pdf format keeping searchable texts. As you all know, other applications (such as those in MSOffice) do not require special settings to make texts recognizable in pdf. With AutoCAD, among the graphics settings, we selected "TrueType as text", but no such options was found in the interface while printing from Drafting.

Our client requires pdf files with this feature and it would take a lot of time to produce them modifying the native .mi with AutoCAD, so thanks that lot to who does know the answer!

I am trying to fix the values of some angles and points.  I am also trying to make an existing line stay parallel to another line.  How do I define 2d constraints in Elements?  How do I lock a dimension the way you can in Creo?

Can someone tell me what happened to the ability to load/save .sat files in Creo Elements Direct Modeling. I went to load a .sat file today and did not even find it as an option - it was there in v18... Did I miss a check box in the install??

Bonjour,

 

J'aimerais savoir quelles fonctions de pro-engineer (Wildfire 5) sont disponibles en fonction du niveau de licence. Par exemple, la fonction "enveloppe simplifiée" (dans le menu insertion/données partagées en conception 3D) est-elle disponible à partir de la licence Creo Engineer II ou Creo Engineer III ?

Ou alors, connaitre les fonctions que regroupent les différents modules tel que Creo Advanced Assembly (AAX) ?

 

Où puis-je avoir ces informations ?

Hello,

 

I would like to know what Pro-Engineer (Wildfire 5) functions are available depending on the level of license. For example, the function "simplified envelope" (in the menu Insert/shared data in 3D design) is available from the license Creo Engineer II or Creo Engineer III ?

Or, knowing the functions that comprise the different modules such as Creo Advanced Assembly (AAX) ?

 

Where can I get those informations ?

Hello,

 

i think i a have a stupid beginner question, and i think for the most of you this is clear, but not for me.

 

I find a lot of documentations how to do nice thinks but i am searching for the way how to undo some thinks, and not direct after i have made this, i want to delelte some objects and not to undo everythink.

 

One very simple example:

 

I make a circle with a Radius from 2.5 on a layer that is on a surface. (Just the drowing in 2D) .

 

Later i want to remove this, how?

 

I try to mark this and press DEL but nothink, right maus i do also see no delete function.

 

Where is my mistake, can somone please give me a tipp.

CoCreate 2008 Installation

Hi all!

 

I have a problem installing cocreate 2008, After the Installation I got this error

When I look the cocreate folder in my program file I only see this.

Untitled1.png

When I run the application it just run a command prompt.

 

Can you help me how to set up cocreate?
