Doesn't Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 4.0 correspond to Windows8? How can it be used if it carries out?
Moreover, does it need to be registered other than account of PTC? If required, may I teach and have a registration method and URL?

Hi! hoping someone can help:
Starting the semester and went to open my Pro E software to see the following warning message:
Liscense request failed for feature
Requesting ProE_Schools.....
blah blah blah
Liscense Server is UP:
Warning (-3): No liscense server system for this feature.
It is saying tht I had an expiration date on my software for Oct. 2013. I went to go re-download as I am still a student and its giving me all these error messages and won't send me a new software email.
What should I do? (SOS...)

When using Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 4.0, if I attempt to open another model, after first selecting "New Session" in the File menu, the model will leave multiple images as it is being moved (rotated, panned, etc.). I have to completely close Creo and reopen it to load another model.
Is that a known bug, or is it something to do with my PC, or is there a setting I've missed?
Does Anyone know what Creo Elements/Direct Advanced Design includes ?

If you load a model and want to position this model in the assembly it often could be, that the loaded model is not visible, because it is located anywhere outside the viewing area. It would be better., if the loaded model is on the cursor and you can pick the position for the loaded model in the area, where you wanted to position it.
Look to Creo Parametric. If you want to insert a model into an assembly the model is on the cursor. It doesnot matter, what area is visible in the viewport.

ia am using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 4.
I want to create a 3D Body out of an imported DXF drawing.
I have drawn the DXF in scale 25.40 but before exporting to DXF I changed to 1:1.
If I measure DXF in my 2D CAD I get 84mm.
But when i import it the scale is wrong. I get 2133,6mm instead of 84mm (a factor of 25.4).
The 3D Body has correct length (84mm) after editing scale to 25.4.
In Annotation the length is wrong with 2133,6mm!
When I enter this factor to the units under system settings, i can measure the correct values.
But when i do a STL export then I get a body without this factor.
Is it possible to enter a "hard" factor while importing a DXF, that the base data is correct
and the system does not referr to the wrong imperial dxf data.

I have one example to change all name of Drawing in Creo & Creo element Direct:
Part A - name in sheet drawing is 1234 - C
Part B - name is 1234 - B
Part C name is 1234 - C
...
Part N name is 1234 - N
I want to change 1234 to 2222 for all format of Sheet drawing
Like word, excel if i want to change just replace 1234 to 2222 to all sheet is ok

There was an update to the Creo Elements licenser server software that is causing many enties on the web page when setup to log all the file imports which we use to retieve files id they have been accidentally deleted by the user. When the new version of the license server is set as below the infos are appearing on the web page. If the message priority is not set to infos, the log will not have the information required to find the file name to restore the deleted file. Is there a way to Turn off the web page logging but still have the file information appear in the log file?

All our engineers have two monitors and from working with Modeling and Drafting they have developed the habit of opening each application on a different monitor. Now that we are migrating towards Annotation they can not use this process, but I think it would be a good idea to allow this.

I have an assembly that has multiple hardware items in it and I want to separate the hardware items from the rest of the components. When I select the items and click on 'Move to New Subassembly' it seems the parameters(part #, description, etc) do not appear in the new assembly. If I start a new Assembly from scratch, the parameters populate/appear in the file.
Does somebody know of a way to make the parameters appear using the 'Move to New Subassembly' feature?
Hello. Is ‘Flexible Modeling’ the same as ‘Creo Direct’?
Modeling should offer a Replace function.
That Replace function would be used to replace a model by another one, or shared model instances by another model. Position relative to the designated source model and the designated destination model should be used to replace properly in the 3D space the source by the destination.
This Replace function is not the same as Reintegrate. Replace would change the destinations SysID while Reintegrate keep it unchanged.
I have created a sketch in Creo 2.0 and drew the object in proportion, but did not worry about dimensions. Now I would like to update the dimensions, but keep the drawing in proprotion. Is there a way to do this? Right now I update a dimension and only that dimension changes

I am trying to pass an ECAD .IDF file from Mentor Graphics Expedition into CREO Direct Modeling 18.1 (with PCB licence). So far all of the components import with component outlines and height properties but have no details associated with them. (part pins, bga balls etc.) Only square blocks appear.
I have a database of 3D STEP models in a separate directory and i would like the .IDF file to reference this folder and use the detailed STEP models as parts for the imported PCB.
From what ive read the 3D models need to be in .prt or .asm format to reference them properly. I have not found a thread that explains this process.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
