WE have had some propblems where an annotation file will get printed as a pdf file from annotation and it looks like expected, but that same file in drafting will load and print with a large amount of white space on one side of the border. The same file should load and print the same between the two applications.

this is my first access to the community resources after years of use of Direct Drafting and Modeling.
Our office has various Drafting running both on WinXP and 7 and the problem may appear trivial, but I couldn't find a way of printing .mi files (through the Adobe PDF printer) into .pdf format keeping searchable texts. As you all know, other applications (such as those in MSOffice) do not require special settings to make texts recognizable in pdf. With AutoCAD, among the graphics settings, we selected "TrueType as text", but no such options was found in the interface while printing from Drafting.
Our client requires pdf files with this feature and it would take a lot of time to produce them modifying the native .mi with AutoCAD, so thanks that lot to who does know the answer!

When I add a new masterdata to modelmanager most of the attributes are blank. I'd like to create a saved search in model manager for parts where I'm the owner but a specific attribute is blank ?
Any way to do this ?

Has anyone used the inspection module to generate code to be used for the inspection of a part in a CMM Machine?
Following limited exploration of this module I understand this module can output a CSV file from 3D doc-u-planes but not sure if this file can be used for this purpose?

can anyone help me with the following situation. I have an assembly containing a radial pattern on the circular surface of a pipe. the pattern contains a part (screw) and a machining feature in the pipe.
I would like to enlarge the pipe diameter, but cannot find a way to maintain the pattern, the included features become invalid.

I have a firewall turned on that I am restricted from turning off but I am able to make exceptions. I have made an exception for port 8897 on both the Manager Server computer and the Job Server computer however jobs are still failing. The error message shown is "Uploading data to server socket://jobserver:8897 / failed". Are there other ports that need to be opened as well?
Currently, when a command is started from the mini toolbar, the full UI is not shown. Pressing shift+space will open up the full UI for the command. Is there a way to automatically show the full UI without having to hit shift+space? More often than not, I need the full ui open.

I am creating a new tab named DMS which contains groups and buttons to the ribbon and I would like to share it with my colleagues. I need a means, macro or something else, which allows for importing this tab DMS, without doing it by hand. The own customization of my colleagues must not be modified. That means that the tab DMS must be added to the ribbon.

Hello, I used to use prodesktop 2000i2 in school and creo elements seems like a more powerful version of this. In prodesktop there was an option to use text on a workplane and then extrude it to form a 3d object, can you do this in creo elements.

I am working with the 3D Access and the built in render module. When I render something the resulting image is always way too dark. Any ideas why that might be?
I attaches some pictures of the model. One in normal view, one with the lighting added to the scene, and one with the result of the render. I used the following lighting "light studio/object/high contrast/keylight, spot, 2 fill lights and back light" (might actually be named different. translated from german).

Creo 2 simulation have some cool additional features such as Preload and save view on the result windows. The interesting new feature is adding Preload into a physical fastener (not simulate fastener). This is one of my wish list. I would like to learn more about this feature. I have 2 questions
1. Is there any documents / formulars / method to explaine how it works?
2. How accurate is it compare to hand calculation or Abaqus or Ansys or Solidworks simulation?

In 2009 I bought the software "CoCreate 2008 Version 16.00D".
In 2010 we got the new version "PTC/CoCreate 17.00" from our support-contact at Switzerland - I never installed it on my PC.
After 2010 we finished upgrade-contract because all features we needed from our CAD were available.
Today (21.01.204) I bought Win 8.1.
I installed the newer version "PTC/CoCreate 17.00" on my second PC*. I kept the fist one I'm having with Win XP and "CoCreate 2008 Version 16.00D" running on it. I wanted to have a Hardware-Backup because of my CAD from CoCreate (that has HW-License as I was told then).
* all the same hardware. No differences. I bought them together some years ago to have a "hardware backup system".
I try now to make run the newer version "PTC/CoCreate 17.00" on my PC. The one with WinXP I kept without any changes to ensure that I have a fallback system.
As already mentioned the hardware on the second PC is the same. I copied the file MEIs.conf from the path of the Licence-Server on my PC on a USB-Stick and tried to make it run on the second system. No success.
Now I'm looking for some support - but I can't find a possibility on the ptc webside.
Maybe you can give me a hint where to ask for support / how to make it run on my second PC*.
My point of view is that I bought this versions legally from CoCreate in 2010 and there must be a official way to get it run on my Win 8.1 PC.
